Watch if your dog loves to play on the grass 🌾

The Dog Cancer Survival Guide flags lawn pesticides and herbicides as a possible risk factor for certain cancers in dogs, including lymphoma and bladder cancer. The research is still mixed, but out of caution, keep your dog off any lawn treated with pesticide or herbicide.

Dr. Dressler recommends waiting at LEAST 6 hours after application before you allow your dog to have access to a treated area. But wait even longer if possible.

Other things you can do:

✅️Ask neighbors, parks, or landscapers if an area was recently sprayed

✅️ Rinse your dog's paws after walks on unfamiliar grass. It won't undo exposure, but it can help stop them from licking up residue afterward.
